Bike
Storage Made Simple
Bicycles are one of the biggest
challenges in a garage system. The bottom line
is that there are three types of bike racks for
a garage: floor-mounted, wall-mounted and ceiling-mounted.
Floor-mounted racks are
great if you have an oversized garage or can commit
one of your garage bays as a utility bay for your
bikes, toys and equiptment. These racks allow
kids easy access for their bikes and give you
the best chance to get the bikes back where they
started. Unfortunately, many clients do not have
the space to commit a bay for bikes and toys.
A wall-mounted rack needs
adjustable arms to allow you to hold today's bikes
squarely on a wall. The challenge with wall mounted
racks are that if you start hanging bikes all
over your walls your functional storage space
can disappear quickly.
Ceiling-mounted hoists
work well to get the bikes up and out of the way
when the season is over. We sell only a deluxe
hoist that is a two rope system that is not only
safe but easy to use. These systems can be cumbersome
for children or for those of you who ride frequently.
The best answer for most of
our clients is a combination of systems. We will
be happy to provide options and the best alternatives
for your bikes when we design your garage. |
